Waney lap - lightweight fence, horizontal overlap, ideal for a decorative border.
Vertilap - upright overlap fence, substantial timber, can be flat or arched tops, ideal for privacy.
Single palisade - strong fence, allows wind through, can be flat or arched tops.
Alternate palisade - very strong fencing, allowing wind through, but also giving privacy, flat or arched tops.
Herringbone chevron - good strong fence, allowing wind through, diagonal boards, flat top only.
